Belle Plaine, Minn. - Team TigerTown got back to their winning ways as they knocked off Carver Central White foe Gaylord 6-4. The Tigers are now 8-13 overall and 3-5 in the CCL.
The Tigers used four runs in the bottom of the third inning to take an early lead. They added two insurance runs in the fourth to end their scoring. Gaylord did rally in the sixth as they plated six runs and knocked winning pitcher Mike Schultz (2-2) from the game. Ryan Witt, however, came in and ended the rally and finished the game as he collected his second save of the season. Schultz went 5 2/3 innings giving up four runs on six hits. He walked and stuck out four. Witt went the final 3 1/3 innings giving up no runs on three hits while striking out two.
Dan Huber went 1 for 4 with a walk, but his one hit was of the long ball fashion as he zonked a two run homer. Mike Dhaene led the Tigers in hits as he went 3 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Pat Schultz cooled off from his recent hot streak (possible from someone sending photo of Pat with fire in hand…KRU) as he went 0 for 4 with a walk and a run scored. Pat I would have a talk with Kru if I were you! .
The Tigers were very aggressive on the bases as they stole six times in the game, including Dhaene twice.
