Belle Plaine, Minn - Not even Socrates himself can stop the great philosophizers of the juggernaut known as the Plato Blue Jays, but Team TigerTown was their greatest foe as of yet. Plato won a 4-1 debate as they improved to 5-0 on the season, but Tigers held the Jays to their lowest run total of the season thus far.
Plato lit up the scoreboard first when Jon Becker launched a solo homer in the top of the sixth. They then added three more in the top of the eighth before the Tigers finally got on in the board in the bottom of the eighth.
El Tigre could only muster four hits in the game. Tim Schuster, Pat Schultz, Mike Dhaene, and Dan Huber all went 1 for 4 with Huber driving in the only run.
Jon Schulz (0-2) took the loss in the game after he went six innings giving up one run on five hits. He walked one and struck out one with his only mistake being the solo homer in the sixth. Ryan Witt pitched a scoreless seventh before Dave Feldt came in and gave up three runs on three hits. Mike Schultz came in to finish up the game.
The Tigers are now 2-5 overall and 1-3 in the Carver Central. They hit the road to take on St. Francis on Friday, May 20th at 8:00 p.m.
