MOTHER NATURE SWEEPS A PAIR

Price of Herald to Drop 50 Cents This Week

--By Brett Kruschke

The Tigers already peeled-back schedule became more so when both weekend games were rained out. Team Tigertown was meant to host Chaska on Friday night and travel to Shakopee (Indians) on Sunday; no make-up dates have been set although they should be by next week’s Herald.

In related news, the Lonsdale Aces phoned Sunday to say that they would have to back out of their scheduled visit to Tiger Park on Tuesday, July 6, with pending rainout games of their own. That date looms as a possible makeup date for the Chaska game, but don’t go writing it on the refrigerator quite yet.

Belle Plaine does have a big CCL-White matchup this Thursday night at 7:30pm, when Waconia pays a visit in a battle of league unbeatens. That’s right, the Tigers are 3-0 and the constantly improving Lakers are 2-0 on the young season. Winthrop (1-2) and Arlington (0-1) are the other teams in the division. One might expect Rob Wagener to toe the hill for the visitors, but then again we’ve seen the Lakers outfox themselves before. Shane Hofmann will hurl the hoghide for the home team.

With Memorial Day Weekend upon us, the Tigers will not see action again until Friday, June 4 th at St. Francis. A good time, perhaps, for the lads to start getting into swimsuit shape.

Finally, the Seven Dwarfs—aka our bountiful rookie crop—are advised to bring their checkbooks to the next kangaroo court session, which may be held Thursday.
